British actor Henry Cavill made a stop in Manila to promote Netflix's upcoming fantasy series The Witcher.
Henry is best known for his role as Clark Kent aka Superman in the DC films Man of Steel (2013) and Batman V Superman (2016).
Now, he stars as Geralt of Rivia in the fantasy series, which is set to stream worldwide on December 20, 2019.

During his promotional stop in Manila last December 13, the 36-year-old actor interacted with fans at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
One by one, Henry signed photos, posters, and other merchandise.

Once he had signed every single item, Henry went up on stage to say a few words.
He said, "Thank you guys. I hear that some of you were waiting out, some of you were waiting for hours. We really appreciate you being here and giving us all your support."

ABS-CBN actor Matteo Guidicelli, who served as the host for the fan event, sat down with Henry for a quick chat about the Netflix series.
Henry believes that Geralt of Rivia was a role he has been preparing for his "entire life."
The Witcher lead actor said, "I've been a fan of the fantasy genre since I was a boy. I've been reading fantasy books since I learned to read. And before that, my father would read fantasy books to me.
"I've been a PC gamer since I was a boy as well... And yeah, so I've been playing role playing games and fantasy genres for years and years and years.
"This was just a final upgrade. It's a dream come true."

When Henry first heard the news that Netflix was adapting the fantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, the actor was determined to get an auditon.
He recounted, "As soon as I heard Netflix was making this into a show, I was on my agents every single day, saying, 'Guys, you gotta get me in the room. I don't care how you do it, I at least want to meet someone who can say yes or no to me.'
"That's all I cared about. I just wanted to know. I wanted to put my best foot forward and see what I can do to help."
Fortunately, Henry got the part.

When asked to describe the show in three words, Henry said, "Fantasy. Murder. And love."
The Witcher is a series of novel and short stories about a monster hunter with supernatural abilities. The series was first published in the mid-'80s.
In 2007, it was adapted into an action role-playing video game.
Then in 2017, its television adaptation was announced with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich as its showrunner.
