Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino's first movie Exes Baggage has now earned P206 million in the Philippine box office.
Exes Baggage is the maiden offering of ABS-CBN Films’ Black Sheep. This subsidiary announced through its social media pages that Exes Baggage grossed P206,693,044.73 as of October 5, 2018. The CarGel movie reached this milestone in a span of ten days.
Angelica and Carlo, more popularly known as CarGel, agreed to play former sweethearts after breaking up with each other in real life many years ago.
During a past interview, Angelica was asked if she would have agreed to do this project with a different ex-boyfriend.
She answered immediately: "No."
When Carlo was asked for his reaction to this, he said: "Hinihintay ko 'to ng matagal. Saka para um-oo siya, hindi naman niya kailangan gawin 'to. Hindi na niya kailangan ito sa career niya. Ano pa ba kailangan niyang patunayan? Wala na. Para um-oo siya, sobrang thankful ako."
Angelica also admitted that she still loves her ex-boyfriend Carlo, "Kumbaga yung ganitong friendship, hindi niyo ito makikita sa iba. Sa kanya lang ako ganito ka-kumportable, siya lang yung hanggang ngayon, mahal mo siya at nagke-care ka sa kanya at gusto mo ang best para sa kanya."
Directed by Dan Villegas, the movie opened in Philippine cinemas on September 26, 2018.
In Exes Baggage, a real estate broker named Pia crosses paths with a furniture designer named Nix. They enter into a relationship while still getting over their past heartbreak.
Exes Baggage is rated PG by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
