Romance movies continue to catch the attention of Pinoy moviegoers.
This is evident when movies that bring kilig, particularly romantic comedies, dominated the list of Most Tweeted Filipino movies in 2017.
Based on the list released by Twitter Philippines, nine out of the Top 10 Most Tweeted Pinoy movies focused on a love story while one entry stood out since it was in the horror genre.

1. My Ex and Whys

My Ex and Whys follows the story of Cali (Liza Soberano), a blogger who owns the up and coming blog, "The Bakit List," and her ex-boyfriend Gio (Enrique Gil), who will return to her life unexpectedly. The movie became viral when Liza's character asks Enrique: "Am I not enough? Panget ba ako? Kapalit-palit ba ako?" 
2. Can't Help Falling in Love

Gab dela Cuesta (Kathryn Bernardo) and Dos (Daniel Padilla) have a big dilemma in Can't Help Falling In Love.
Gab is already set to wed her long-time boyfriend Jayson (Matteo Guidicelli). However, her world suddenly turned upside down when she discovers that she is already married to a total stranger named Dos.
Kathryn had the chance to go scubadiving with Daniel as part of this movie. 
3. Loving in Tandem

Loving In Tandem follows the story of Shine (Maymay Entrata), a positive and determined girl who will do everything for her family. She meets the balikbayan Luke (Edward Barber) in the most unusual circumstance and later on finds herself experiencing various stages of love--as they get closer.
This rom-com served as the launching movie of the Mayward love team of Maymay and Edward.
It also tested the Kismarc tandem of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 former housemates Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo.
4. Kita Kita
Cast: Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez

Release date: July 19, 2017
Kita Kita is about a Pinay working as travel guide in Sapporo, Japan. She loses her sense of sight due to extreme stress and heartache. While living alone, she finds comfort in her neighbor who served as her eyes during her times of temporary blindness.
This sleeper hit is now considered the highest grossing Pinoy indie film of all time after overtaking the box-office gross of Heneral Luna.
5. Love You to the Stars and Back
Cast: Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto
Director: Antoinette Jadaone
Release date: August 30, 2017
A girl named Mika decides to go on a road trip to look for aliens. During her trip, she accidentally bumps into Caloy whom she gives a free ride to until he reaches his destination. Mika then finds out that Caloy has cancer but despite it, he has learned to accept his fate. Both embark on a journey filled with adventures and misadventures not knowing they would fall in love with each other along the way.
This is the second Joshlia movie of Julia and Joshua following their 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Vince and Kath and James. 
6. 100 Tula Para Kay Stella

Throughout his four years in college, Fidel, a stuttering student, tries to finish 100 poems dedicated to Stella, an aspiring but frustrated rock musician, to win her heart.
This romance drama was one of the 12 entries chosen to be part of the inaugural Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
7. I'm Drunk, I Love You

Days before graduation, two college best friends go on one last road trip where they settle how they really feel for each other. Carson (Maja Salvador) is at a crossroads as she decides whether or not to tell Dio (Paulo Avelino) that she has been in love with him for seven years.
Paulo and Maja were frustrated by the early pullout of I'm Drunk, I Love You from cinemas and concerned netizens popularized the hashtag "#SaveIDILY."
8. Last Night

While attempting to commit suicide, a despondent man meets a distressed woman. Mark (Piolo Pascual) saves Carmina (Toni Gonzaga) but they make a pact to commit suicide together. When Mark has a change of heart, he discovers the sad truth about his beloved.
The script of this movie is penned by actress Bela Padilla. When they received criticisms regarding the depiction of suicide in the movie, Bela and director Joyce Bernal took to social media to defend their film. 
9. Finally Found Someone

A woman's heartbreak goes viral when her reaction to being ditched on her wedding day is posted online. April (Sarah Geronimo) is heartbroken when her groom left her at the altar on their wedding day. Raffy (John Lloyd Cruz) is a PR expert tasked to make her happy again.
Matteo Guidicelli, the real-life boyfriend of Sarah, admitted recently that he got affected upon seeing Sarah hugging John Lloyd too often in this Star Cinema movie.
10. The Ghost Bride
