Angel Locsin reacts to reports saying she is still Darna; says about her back, "Pwede na sirain uli."

Angel Locsin neither confirmed nor denied that she will still play Darna in Star Cinema's upcoming movie version.

However, she did disclose that her health condition is much better and that she is willing to reprise the role of the Pinoy superheroine.

When asked if she be seen once again as Darna, Angel answered, "Hindi ko rin alam kung anong sasabihin ko sa time na ito.

"Baka mas safe kung hindi muna ako mag-comment about that.

"Pero pag dumating naman ang panahon, kayo naman ang una kong makakausap."

Is she still open to doing the iconic superheroine role?

"Very open naman ako from the start. Isa yun sa mga dream roles ko talaga.

"Ang laki ng naitulong sa akin noon sa career ko nung ginawa ko ang Darna.

"Hindi siya mawawala sa isip ko talaga."

It will be recalled that Angel played the komiks superheroine for GMA-7's telefantasya Darna in 2005.

In 2013, Star Cinema bared its plans to do a movie version of Darna to be directed by Erik Matti.

In October 2015, Angel announced that she could no longer star in the movie version of Darna because of a disc bulge in her spine. The ABS-CBN actress underwent a series of operations for this condition.

How is her back now?

"Okay na, pwede na siya sirain uli," joked Angel.

Turning serious, she continued, "Okay naman siya. May assessment ako ulit [sa doctor].

"Tapusin lang natin itong pelikula,"breferring to the movie The Third Party starring her, Zanjoe Marudo and Sam Milby.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and select members of the media had the chance to interview Angel at the movie pictorial held in Commonwealth.

In an interview, Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos disclosed that Angel would still play Darna and commented, "For now, walang iba."

How did she feel when she heard that comment?

"Of course, very happy. Pero medyo torn ka dahil hindi mo alam kung anong reaction ipapakita mo," admitted Angel.

"Kasi hindi ka pa naman talaga allowed magsalita.

"Wala pa naman kasi kaming usapan talaga.

"Pero yung tiwala na binigay ng tao, malaking bagay yun.

"Hindi ko makakalimutan ang pagmamahal na binigay nila. Masaya na ako dun."


THE THIRD PARTY. Angel is currently shooting The Third Party with Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo. In this rom-com directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, Angel is cast as the ex-girlfriend of Sam's character.
