Nagluluksa ang mundo ng boxing dahil sa pagpanaw ng British professional boxer na si Ricky Hatton ngayong Setyembre 14, 2025.
Siya ay 46.
Wala nang buhay ang world boxing champion nang matagpuan ang katawan nito sa kanyang tahanan sa Greater Manchester, Northwest England.
Kinumpirma ng Greater Manchester Police ang pagkakatuklas sa bangkay ni Hatton. Diumano, hindi kahina-hinala ang pagkamatay niya.
“We can confirm that we have found a body at an address on Bowlacre Road in Gee Cross at 6:45 am today, Sunday, September 14. The death is not being treated as suspicious,” pahayag ng Greater Manchester Police.
Bumuhos ang pakikiramay para sa mga naulila ni Hatton na nagbabalak na muling lumaban ng boksing sa Disyembre 2025.

HATTON'S LOSs TO PACQUIAO
Hindi inilihim ni Hatton ang pakikipaglaban niya sa drug addiction at ang pagkakaroon ng mga pagsubok sa kanyang mental health.
Sa isang panayam kay Hatton noong Nobyembre 2023, ipinagtapat niya ang pagnanais wakasan ang sariling buhay nang matalo siya sa Pambansang Kamao na si Manny Pacquiao sa kanilang laban sa MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, USA, noong Mayo 2, 2009.
Labis na kahihiyan ang naramdaman ni Hatton nang literal na mapatulog siya ni Pacquiao sa second round ng kanilang pagtutunggali para sa International Boxing Organization (IBO) Light Welterweight Championship na tinaguriang “Battle of East and West.”
Ang pagkatalo niya kay Pacquiao ang sinabi ni Hatton na dahilan kaya nagkaroon ng lamat ang relasyon nila ng kanyang mga magulang at ng kaibigan at long-time trainer niya na si Billy Graham.
“I was just sat in my living room, thinking to myself, 'You've got no boxing no more, you can't share what you've done with your mum and dad, you can't share it with your trainer, you haven't got a wife anymore…' I thought, 'What do I need to be here for?'
"I didn't want to be here, I really didn't. Back in the day, when I was in a really, really bad place, I just used to sit in the house and not leave the house.
“I used to just dwell on things. I think the more time you give yourself to just sit there and ponder, the worse it gets. You go under.
"I'm a former boxing champion who won four world titles, I'm supposed to be a tough guy, aren't I? And I couldn't do it myself. It doesn't matter what I did in the boxing ring or anything like that, I needed help,” pagsisiwalat ni Hatton tungkol sa malalang depresyon na idinulot sa kanya ng laban nila noon ni Pacquiao.

MANNY PACQUIAO MOURNS THE LOSS OF RICKY HATTON
Nagpaabot naman ng pakikiramay si Manny Pacquiao sa pamamagitan ng Facebook post.
Saad niya: "I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ricky Hatton.
"He was not only a great fighter inside the ring but also a brave and kind man in life.
"We shared unforgettable moments in boxing history and I will always honor the respect and sportsmanship he showed.
"Ricky fought bravely, not just in the ring, but in his journey through life. He truly had a good fight, and we are all blessed to have been part of his wonderful journey.
"My prayers and deepest condolences go out to the Hatton family and all his loved ones. May the Lord give you strength and comfort in this difficult time. May he rest in peace."
