Relic jar smashed by a boy restored; back on display in museum

Experts explain how they were able to assemble a broken ancient jar.

Isang 3,500-year-old ancient jar ang 35 years nang naka-display sa Hecht Museum sa Haifa, Israel, na walang glass enlcosure.

Katapusan ng August 2024, naibalitang nabasag ito ng isang batang lalaki.

Pero after two weeks, nabuo ulit ito at naibalik sa Hecht Museum, ulat ng ABC News noong September 11, 2024.

Ang jar ay nagmula pa sa Bronze Age kaya’t mahalagang bahagi ito ng kasaysayan. Pinaniniwalaang mula ito sa period ng 2200-1500 B.C.

Kalimitan, ang mga jar na nahuhukay mula sa Bronze Age ay mga pira-piraso at basag-basag.

Kaya ganun ka-espesyal ang ancient jar na ito.

Isang four-year-old boy ang na-curious kung ano ang laman ng relic kaya hinila niya ito dahilan para mabasag.

Hindi pinarusahan ang bata dahil hindi nito sinasadya ang nangyari.

Pero naging daan ito para mas paigtingin ang pag-educate sa mga visitors kapag nasa loob ng museums.

Ayon kay Roee Shafir, ang restoration expert ng museum, hindi mahirap ang pagbuong muli sa relic dahil mula sa isang item ang mga pira-piraso.

Mas mahihirapan daw sila kung bubuo sila ng isang relic na mula sa halo-halong piraso ng iba’t ibang bagay.

Gumamit daw ang kanyang grupo ng 3D technology, hi-resolution videos, at special glue.

Pero siyempre, dahil nabasag, hindi na katulad ng dati ang ancient jar.

Kung pagmamasdang mabuti ang ancient jar, Mapapansin ang mga gahibla ng buhok na guhit gawa ng pinagdikit-dikit na piraso ng jar.

May ilang maliliit na parte rin ng jar na mapapansing wala na.

Dahil sa nangyari, nagdagdag ang museum administration ng reminder na, “Please don’t touch.”
