Jason Abalos, 33, has been showing all-out support for his longtime girlfriend Vickie Ruston, 25, who has joined Binibining Pilipinas 2018.
Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Jason said he has been trying to convince Vickie to join the pageant for the past two years.
“Sa totoo lang, kami ang nagpu-push sa kanya na gawin niya ‘yan.
“Two years ago, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Andiyan na yung showbiz. After PBB, puwede ka mag-artista.’
“At the time, tinitingnan pa ni Vickie kung anong gusto niya talaga gawin.
“So, nung bago matapos yung 2017, sabi niya, ‘Sasali ako ng Binibini.’
"Sabi ko, ‘Go! Kahit anong kailangan mo, susuportahan ka namin diyan.’”

Does Vickie feel the pressure to win the crown on her first try?
Jason answered, “Hindi pa niya naiisip ‘yan ngayon. Puro training siya.
“Wala pa siya dun sa, ‘A, teka muna, competition na ‘to.’”
The Kapuso actor went on to say that joining Binibining Pilipinas is a good venue for Vickie, not just to showcase if she has what it takes to win another beauty title, but also to find self-fulfillment.
Vickie was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas in 2011.
“Nakikita ko na nae-enjoy niya.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Huwag mo intindihin yung koronang puwede mong makuha diyan.
“Enjoy-in mo lang yung experience.’
“Para rin sa personality niya, kasi sobrang mahiyain ni Vickie, e.
“Kasi ang PBB, sa loob ng bahay, sila-sila lang.
“Eto, exposed siya sa lahat ng tao na makakasalamuha niya.”
PEP caught up with Jason in an interview after the shoot for PEPtalk Live together with his The One That Got Away co-stars Ivan Dorschner and Migo Adecer.
The shoot was held at the Summit Media headquarters earlier today, February 20.
