Charo Santos -Concio and Director Lav Diaz share the same view that the local film industry could use a lot of support from government. She is hopeful, however, saying, "Hope springs eternal.

Aniya, “I guess, I think it's a reality that cinema is way below on the list of priorities… nakakalungkot.

“We're hoping, people from the industry are really just hoping that the government will also give the same value and the same support to the cinema industry as they do to others.

“Hope springs eternal.

PRAISES FOR LAV.

Aniya, “He's a brilliant man, but his brilliance doesn't define him.

“He's very grounded, he's a very humble person.

“And yung passion niya for cinema is the very reason why up to this day, he comes out with excellent movies.

“At saka yung pagmamahal niya sa Pilipino, pagmamahal sa bayan.

“Parating mahalaga yun sa bawat pelikulang ginagawa niya.

“The one thing that really makes him special is he's your friend by your side.

Sagot niya, “I think he deserves it, he does.”

LAV’S LAMENT.

Pahayag pa nito, “We were in the Main Competition of Venice. It was like the Olympics of cinema.

NOOD KA MUNA!

“In sports, medalists receive millions worth of incentives. They’re even given a house and lot.

“But why do filmmakers have to beg for support?

“Pag beauty contest, nababaliw ang Palasyo at Kongreso!”

Ngunit paglilinaw niya, “I am not complaining. I’m just saying…”
