Habang inilalahad ang kanyang plano sa mga napapanahong isyu sa bansa, hindi naiwasan ni Duterte na magbigay ng ibang pahayag upang idiin ang pangunahing layunin niya bilang bagong presidente ng bansa—ang panatilihing malinis ang gobyernong kanyang pamumunuuan.

TEARJERKER SPEECH? Bago ang SONA, inihayag ni Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar na naiyak siya nang mabasa ang speech ni President Duterte.
Sinabi rin niyang may announcement ang presidente na "ikalalaglag" natin sa ating mga upuan.
Pero tila hindi ganito ang naramdaman ng mga nanood ng pag-deliver ni Duterte ng kanyang SONA.

NUMBERS THAT MATTER. Samantala, narito ang ilang mahahalagang numero sa unang SONA ni Pres. Duterte:
Nagsimula ang kanyang SONA ng 4:05 P.M.
Ito ay tumagal ng 1 oras at 32 minuto, o lampas 56 minuto sa orihinal na haba sana nitong 38 minuto.
Ang unang SONA ni Presidente Duterte ay dumaan din sa 20 revisions, ayon kay Sec. Andanar.
Habang kinakanta ni Bayang Barrios ang “Lupang Hinirang,” 4 na beses na nawala ang audio sa kanyang mic.
Pero dahil dito, mas narinig ang lakas ng pagkakanta ng mga kongresista ng Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas.
