Sabi ng grupo sa kanilang opisyal na pahayag: “They were rendering their second song number when the Malaysian Immigration authorities conducted a raid in the hotel they were performing, subjecting them to passport and the required permit inspection for our shows.
“As our producer failed to produce the work permit that his contractual commitment with us mandated him, we were taken into custody and detained in the Malaysian Immigration prison for 5 days.”
Dagdag pa ng grupo, “We were initially treated as ordinary criminals until they learned that MOCHA GIRLS were legitimate artists and professional performers in the Philippines that some measure of courtesy and goodwill were extended us.”
Nilinaw rin nila na: “WE WERE NOT DETAINED FOR SEXY PERFORMANCES AS SOME WOULD SPECULATE.
“MOCHA GIRLS’ regular venue for their performances is the international community and the rules and culture of the country where we perform are in our psyche to give respect to always.”
