The Social Network was named Best Motion Picture-Drama in the just concluded 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The film also won Best Director for David Fincher, Best Original Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin, and Best Original Score for Trent Raznor and Atticus Ross.
The Kids Are Alright, on the other hand, won Best Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical.
Top acting honors went to Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Colin Firth (The King's Speech) for Drama; Annette Bening (The Kids Are Alright) and Paul Giamatti (Barney's Version) for Comedy or Musical.
The Fighter's Christian Bale and Melissa Leo won the supporting categories.
In the television category, Glee was named Best TV Series-Comedy or Musical for the second time in a row, while newcomer Boardwalk Empire was chosen as Best TV Series-Drama for the first time.
Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) and Katey Segal (Sons of Anarchy) bagged the top acting honors in the drama category, while Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Laura Linney (The Big C) took the awards in the comedy or musical category.
Carlos was named Best Mini-series or TV Movie; while Al Pacino (You Don't Know Jack) and Claire Danes (Temple Gradin) won the acting honors in this category.
Glee's Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer won their first Golden Globe trophies as Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie, respectively.
Robert De Niro is this year's recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Liftetime Achievement Award.
