"Ang taray naman no'n! You know one of the things about this business is I'm not really in it for the money. It's more of the passion," commented Anne Curtis on rumors that she's transferring to another network or would ask a higher talent fee as her contract with ABS-CBN expires soon.

Anne Curtis considers Showtime a very good venue to show her "bugoy" side to the public. The Filipino-Australian actress has proven that she can also reach out to the "masa" even though she's usually perceived as "classy" and "fashionista."

"That's the good thing about it kasi that's who I really am," she told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other invited media during the press launch of her new Whisper endorsement at Mindanao Ballroom of Hotel Sofitel in Pasay City earlier today, August 5.

She added, "'Yon nga yung pinag-usapan namin, na parang on ASAP, you see It Girls [composed of Anne, Bea Alonzo, Iya Villania, Shaina Magdayao, and Maja Salvador], na pasosyal, fashionista. But I'm really bugoy and nailalabas 'yon sa Showtime. That's why it's effortless, e. Fun lang, walang script-script. Kulitan lang... Kahit puyat ako from Green Rose taping [her upcoming TV series], diretso Showtime, walang pagod."

Anne's dedication reflects how much she loves the show.

She said, "You know Showtime, it's an everyday thing. That's something all of us just do for the love almost."

This statement also answers the rumor that she's planning to transfer to another network or ask for a raise in since her contract with ABS-CBN is about to expire.

"Ang taray naman no'n!" she reacted. "You know, one of the things about this business is I'm not really in it for the money. It's more of the passion."

As a treat to their avid viewers, Anne promises that there would more surprises in the second season of Showtime. She said, "Madaming magagaling na contestants ulit. But I have to say, 'yong mga batuhan naming mga host."

CLOSENESS AMONG SHOWTIME STAFF. Anne also acknowledges the good relationship she has with her co-hosts and the staff and crew of Showtime, which is one of the reasons it became successful during its first season.

"I think that's the magic behind Showtime," the actress-TV host said. "Kasi, nandoon talaga 'yong bond, kulitan, na kahit 10:30 ng umaga na kami pumapasok, hindi ko nararamdaman ang puyat ko from taping or anything kasi makukulit. Lalo yung mga feedback from Twitter, lahat talaga super tweet sila na, 'Nakakatawa 'yon.'"

She also mentioned that this could be the reason why the show's regular hurado, Vice Ganda, still shows up in the morning talent program despite announcing his "temporary leave."

"Siguro kasi, I understand Vice na minsan nakakapagod talaga, lalo na 'yong pa-sample every day for nine months. I think what brings him back is the love for the madlang people, the love for the contestants, kasi pumapasok pa rin siya," said Anne.

As of now, the production staff of Showtime doesn't have any plans yet on what to do once Vice starts his "temporary leave."

ON HER NEXT TV SERIES. Aside from Showtime, Anne is also currently busy taping her next teleserye with Jericho Rosales and Jake Cuenca titled Green Rose.

NOOD KA MUNA!

According to her, this would be very different from her past TV projects, like the fantaserye Dyosa (2008) and romantic-comedy series The Wedding (2009).

Anne said every taping day with her co-actors is always a challenge. She explained, "Ito, medyo drama ulit. So, I'm really, really excited. Lahat kasi, from all aspects—Alessandra de Rossi, Jake, Echo—alam mong you have to be on your game kasi kung hindi, lalamunin ka, e. So, ang sarap ng feeling ng gano'n, e. Talagang aarte ako, 'yong gano'n. Pinaghandaan naming lahat."

ON HER UPCOMING MOVIE. Anne also juggles her time in preparing for the showing of her movie with Claudine Barretto and Richard Gutierrez, In Your Eyes.

Anne said this movie reminded her of her previous TV drama in ABS-CBN, Maging Sino Ka Man (2006), because of its striking quotes.

"That's the thing I like about In Your Eyes kasi may catchy lines. Parang Maging Sino Ka Man dati. Like out of the box, fun, spontaneous... I'm really excited. Tapos na akong mag-dubbing, pati si Ate Claudine, si Richard. Premiere night na sa August 15."

In the trailer of the movie, Anne has intimate moments with ex-boyfriend Richard. So, the media asked her if there's someone who would get jealous when he watches the movie.

"Wala. Wala talaga," she immediately replied. "My lovelife, it's something that I've learned from the past that I'd like to keep quiet na lang about it. Kasi, you know, being in the industry, the press can either make it or break it. Kung talagang ano, dapat i-keep quiet na lang para hindi na maapektuhan."

Although she didn't answer if she's in a relationship right now, Anne just assured the media, "I'm happy!"

Anne is currently being linked to Filipino-French businessman and model Erwan Heusaff, who is the brother of her girl friend Solenn Heusaff. They were last seen together in the Bench denim and underwear fashion show, Uncut. Although Anne has yet to admit their relationship, there is already a rumor that they have broken up.
