December 25, 2009 will be the first Christmas of the Aquino children—Ballsy Aquino Cruz, Pinky Aquino-Abellada, Noynoy Aquino, Viel Aquino-Dee, and Kris Aquino-Yap—without their mother, the late President Cory Aquino.
They said President Cory was very hands on when it comes to preparing everything to make their Christmas celebration memorable. From the personalized Christmas cards to Chrismas decors and menu, the former leader of the country would always put extra effort to make them more special.
Her second daughter Pinky further described, "Siya talaga ang naghahanda, kasi we're like fifty people here on Christmas Eve. Siya talaga 'yong nag-aayos."
Despite the "palpable absence" of President Cory in their family house in Times Street, West Triangle, Quezon City, Kris and her siblings still managed to relate to YES! the happy Christmases, even the "not-so-merry" Christmases, they had with their mom and father, the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.
