Jinggoy Estrada's comeback movie Katas ng Saudi gave him another acting award after he was cited Best Actor at the 56th FAMAS Awards held at the Manila Hotel last night, November 29.
This is the third time Jinggoy was cited for the same film that was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last year. He previously won in MMFF and Golden Screen Awards by the Entertainment Press Society.
In his acceptance speech, Jinggoy first took a jab at his bosom buddy Bong Revilla, who was also nominated for Resiklo.
"Sayang at wala si Senator Bong dito. Ako, nakakatatlo na, siya isa pa lang!" he jested.
The actor-politician also hopes to achieve the recognition as a Hall of Famer at FAMAS, like his dad, former President Joseph Estrada.
Lorna Tolentino dedicated her acting trophy to her late husband Rudy Fernanadez who guided her in this film.
Katas ng Saudi was also cited Best Picture.
Theater veteran Irma Adlawan won as Best Supporting Actress for her work in Ataul for Rent. Mon Confiado's work for Faces of Love merited the Best Supporting Actor trophy. Maryo J. de los Reyes was named Best Director for Star Cinema's A Love Story.
