Singer-comedian Yoyoy Villame passed away at 12 noon today, May 18.
In an interview over dzMM, Yoyoy's daughter, Hannah, said her father died from a heart attack at the Las Piñas Medical Center. According to a report, he was admitted at 9 a.m. but doctors failed to revive him. He complained of difficulty breathing and chest pains. He expired at about 12 noon.
The remains of the comedian now lies at Funeraria Paz. He died at age 74.
Roman Villame, real name of Yoyoy, went a long way from being a public utility driver and a councilor from Cebu before finally recording his own music. Yoyoy was known for his catchy novelty songs such as "Mag-Exercise Tayo," "Si Filemon," "Hayop Na Kombo," "Tarsan at Barok," "Philippine Geography," "Butsekik," among others.
