Fans of sexy young actress Angelica Panganiban should start collecting her sexy pictorials, especially her skin exposures in FHM and Maxim magazines. These will soon be collectors' items because, according to Angelica, she might not do another sexy pictorial.
"When I accepted the role for Santa Santita, gusto ko lang ipaalam sa mga tao na nag-mature na ako sa pagiging artista. I did the sexy pictorials para ipakita rin sa kanila na 'eto na ako ngayon. I have already grown up. Hindi na ako bata at ready na ako sa ibang challenge for my career," said Angelica during the press con of Rounin, the new tele-epiko of ABS-CBN, yesterday, April 10, at the TV network's 9501 Restaurant.
She added, "And I might not do another sexy pictorial, kasi nagawa ko na, e. Gusto ko iba naman. Sa movies, nagpa-sexy na ako, siguro doon na ako magko-concentrate. Kung madi-disappoint ang fans ko dahil baka hindi na ako mag-sexy pictorial, tiyak naman na mag-e-enjoy sila sa pelikula. Doon, gumagalaw pa ako."
When the issue of her "retoke" pictorial for a liquor brand was brought up, Angelica's composure changed. She said, visibly irritated, "Sa gumawa nu'n, sana mamatay na siya! Babuyan na kasi ang ginawa niya. Katawan ko ‘yon, at wala siyang karapatang ikalat ‘yon sa Internet!"
The pictures on the Net—which are still circulating—shows an Angelica totally unaware that she was being photographed. She was having a fitting session prior to the shoot of the liquor brand, explained Angelica.
"One month before the actual pictorial ‘yon. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nasa utak ng gumawa at nagpakalat nun. Kaya sana talaga mamatay na siya!" the actress fumed.
Meanwhile, Angelica will be playing the character of Aura in ABS-CBN's Rounin under the direction of Erik Matti. The character, described the young actress, has the power of the wind. Aura will be the forbidden love of Juris, played by Luis Manzano.
"Napakahirap ng ginawa namin dito. Lalong-lalo na 'pag naka-harness na kami," narrates Angelica. "Nagkakapasa kami, saka pakiramdam talaga namin na bugbog na bugbog ang mga katawan namin. Sa mga fight scenes din, hindi naiiwasan na magkasakitan. Nahampas ko nga ng espada sa ulo si Phillip Kho [the fight director]. 'Pag may malaki kaming fight scenes, hindi talaga maiiwasan na tamaan ka ng espada. Pero it's all worth it, kaya dapat nilang abangan ang Rounin."
It took a year-and-half to make the Kapamilya Network's much-awaited tele-epiko. Also in the cast are Diether Ocampo, Rafaell Rosell, Jhong Hilario, Joross Gamboa, Rayver Cruz, and Shaina Magdayao, among others.
