Jessy Mendiola calls Boracay her "happy place."

Boracay is more than just a tourist destination to a lot of people.

It's their R & R, an epic night out, the place to be and be seen.

And for celebrities, it's where they hie off to when they need a break from the stressful demands of showbiz.

In March 2016, Maine Mendoza celebrated her 21st birthday with some friends on the island known for its powdery sand.

Guess who came to greet her? Alden Richards!

Jessy Mendiola is in love with this "paradise," and visits it as often as she can.

She even joined a clean-up drive back in May of 2016.

And because Jessy loves the island so much, her boyfriend Luis Manzano chose the Discovery Shores Boracay as venue for his surprise party for her 25th birthday on December 3, 2017.

Boracay is memorable place for Bangs Garcia and Lloydie Birchmore.

It was where they first met on New year's Day in 2015, where they got engaged exactly a year later, and where they tied the knot on January 24, 2017.

In 2010, Jasmine Curtis Smith met her crush, the late Mark Salling, on the island.

It happened with the help of Twitter where she wrote, "Hey @Mark_Salling, meet us for dinner tonight here in Bora.

"I'd like to meet u and it seems like everyone wants us to meet too."

The Glee actor read Jasmine's tweet, googled her name, and joined the actress' squad on December 29, 2010.

Jasmine was one of the few people he followed on Twitter until his death on January 30, 2018.

Up until his incarceration in 2014, Bong Revilla always took Lani Mercado and their kids to Boracay as a Holy Week tradition.

And for volleybelles (L-R) Michelle Gumabao, Gretchen Ho, Rachel Anne Daquis, and Cha Cruz, the white-sand beach was a staple in their summer itinerary because it had been the venue for Nestea's annual beach volleyball match. This photo was taken in 2015.

Tim Yap and Iza Calzado are part co-owners of The Tides Hotel Boracay.
