South Korean singer-songwriter and actor Seo In Guk is embracing his role as the Philippines' celebrity Tourism Ambassador for Korea with immersive experiences across the country’s top travel destinations.
Shortly after being named the new celebrity Tourism Ambassador for the Philippines on February 21, 2025, Seo In Guk visited the world-renowned Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.
It marked his first experience on the picturesque shores, and he was visibly captivated by the stunning beauty that has made Boracay a top global island destination.
His activities included a round of golf, enjoying the gentle sunset breeze aboard a yacht, and greeting Filipino fans during boat tours.
He also indulged in local culinary delights, trying famous dishes such as sinigang and sisig, and experienced the famed crystal kayak activity along the shores of Station 1.
Following his Boracay adventure, Seo In Guk recently embarked on an exhilarating journey in Cebu, relating his experiences through his latest YouTube vlog.
"I'm here in Cebu, Philippines. I'm here to experience scuba diving with my company CEO," he said at the start of the video, expressing excitement about his return to the country.
Having previously tried scuba diving, he revealed that the experience left a lasting impression: "I really enjoyed it last time, so I came here in a rush."
As he explored Cebu’s rich underwater world, he marveled at the stunning sights beneath the waves.
"I highly recommend scuba diving if you come to Cebu. It's amazing. Such an exciting experience every time. It's beautiful [underwater]," he said, captivated by the vibrant marine ecosystem.
His adventure in the Queen City of the South didn’t stop there.
He faced his fear of heights through parasailing, initially nervous but eventually exhilarated by the experience.
"It was scary at first, but I feel very secure now... Please try this if you come to Cebu. It's fantastic," he encouraged viewers.
He also enjoyed a speed boating session, reveling in the thrill, and exclaiming, "It was so fun. That was great!"
Apart from going on adventures, the 37-year-old actor was also spotted in Cebu with BLACKPINK member Kim Jisoo, to shoot for their upcoming MBC U+ Mobile TV's series, Boyfriend On Demand, where they will star alongside actress Chae Soo Bin.

Official appointment of Seo In Guk as new Tourism Ambassador for the Philippines
Seo In Guk was officially appointed as the Philippines’ Tourism Ambassador after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Tourism (DOT) in February this year.
The agreement was witnessed by Tourism Promotions Board Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles and Neocolors Production and Advertising Inc. President and CEO Dr. Christine Daguno-Canoy.
It allows Seo In Guk to promote the Philippines to the South Korean market and his global fan base for one year.
As ambassador, he will participate in promotional events, share his experiences on social media, and attend press engagements to highlight the country’s diverse attractions.
Seo In Guk said of the appointment: "Thank you and it feels very nice. It is an honor for me to be on this stage.
"I really feel a big responsibility as a representative of and as a promoter for one country.
"I really want to thank everyone for making this happen for me and I really want to say that I will give back all the love that you gave to me and I will be someone to promote the Philippines to others in the future.
"Thank you very much. Mahal ko kayo."
DOT Secretary Chief Christina Garcia Frasco, for her part, expressed gratitude to the celebrity.
She stated: "We are very honored to be in the presence of a man who is beloved worldwide for his vast talent, endless creativity, and now, his evident love for the Philippines.
"We are delighted to formally welcome Mr. Seo In Guk as the Philippine Celebrity Tourism Ambassador for South Korea.
"This appointment strengthens the cultural and tourism exchanges between the Philippines and Korea.
"To Mr. Seo In Guk, welcome to our tourism family. Your dedication and enthusiasm will play a vital role in inspiring more travelers to embrace the many reasons to Love the Philippines.
"We look forward to the stories you will share and the meaningful experiences that you will create through this partnership."
Despite his active participation in promotional events, social media campaigns, and press engagements, Seo In Guk is not receiving a talent fee for his ambassadorship.
