The month of August is full of wins for the Barretto family!
Marjorie Barretto is beaming with pride yet holding back tears as her youngest daughter, Erich, takes a major leap toward independence.
The 13-year-old student has flown to the United Kingdom to take summer courses at the prestigious Oxford University—an achievement she pursued entirely on her own.
“Her courage takes her places my dreams never reached,” Marjorie wrote in her Instagram post, accompanying her words with snapshots from their July trip to the UK.
“My brave Erich applied and got accepted to Oxford summer courses all on her own. She chose to take up Psychology.
“When she dreams, she goes out and gets them. We can only stand behind her with full support.”

While the milestone filled her with joy, Marjorie admitted it was also one of the hardest moments she has faced as a mother.
“Inside, my mommy heart was breaking… worried she might be too young to be on her own, but at the same time overflowing with pride.
“My eyes in these photos might give away how hard it was to let go,” she wrote.
“I knew I was going to miss her so much, I worried too much, but I was also deeply happy she gets to experience things I never even dreamed were possible for me.
“July truly stretched us both in ways that made us both grow up.
“At 13, she has taught me the art of letting go, and that no one is too young or too old to chase after their dreams.”
The post struck a chord with followers, many of whom praised Erich’s independence and commended Marjorie for supporting her daughter’s ambitions, despite the emotional difficulty of letting her go.
The photos—capturing the bittersweet send-off—showed a proud but visibly teary-eyed Marjorie beside her daughter, ready to take on Oxford.

Erich’s overseas academic venture was just one of the highlights in what had been a joyful week for Marjorie.
Just days earlier, her second daughter Julia Barretto, surprised her with a brand-new Hyundai Staria.
Marjorie documented the grand gesture on Instagram, posting a video of herself receiving the keys from Julia.
Her reaction was pure delight as she admired the family van’s sleek design, spacious interiors, and modern features.
The Hyundai Staria—known for its premium comfort and versatility—was a perfect addition to Marjorie’s lifestyle as a hands-on mom who values both convenience and quality time with her loved ones.
