For the first time, Pancho Magno shares his co-parenting setup with Max Collins as they raise their son Skye Anakin together.
In an exclusive email interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Pancho reveals, “We try to be fair as much as possible with our scheduling with him, especially because we are in the same industry, and we understand how hectic and erratic our work can be.”
With their unpredictable schedules as celebrities, it can be challenging to attend Skye’s school events at Smallville Montessori Circulo Verde.
But the actor says, “We both make sure to attend Skye’s important events as much as we can.
“If one of us is busy, the other parent will be there. We always make sure that at least one of us is present.”

PANCHO MAGNO: SOLID SUPPORT SYSTEM
One of the everyday challenges Pancho and Max face in co-parenting is the daily school drop-off and pick-up.

There are times when they are both busy, and thus need to coordinate which one of them will bring Skye to school and pick him up afterwards.
“Good thing his Grandmas and Grandpas are there to help out,” Pancho says. “Skye’s grandparents are a big help, and his yayas get along so we don’t encounter any issues.”
Having the presence of extended family ensures that Skye gets an extra dose of love whenever he spends time with either parent.
“Skye usually spends Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with me, and he’s with Max during Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
“On his birthday, we make sure to celebrate it as a family.”
Skye turned four on July 8, 2024, and his parents honored his request for a pool party by holding the celebration the day before, as Skye’s birthday fell on a Monday.

SKYE’S PRESCHOOL EXPERIENCE
Pancho and Max practice open communication, especially when it comes to Skye’s education.
He reveals, “Max and I always update each other on what’s happening with Skye at school every day or as often as possible.
Pancho also acknowledges Smallville as one of their important support systems in raising Skye.
He elaborates, “We always appreciate and take into consideration Smallville’s feedback and suggestions on how to help Skye with his growth and development.
“Teamwork lang lagi.”
Skye, who started at Smallville’s playschool and is now at the pre-kinder level, has grown so much over the years.
The proud dad relates, “Smallville really helped with his development from his nursery days to kinder.
“He began talking at school, and he also learned how to be more independent and follow rules.”

Pancho has also noticed changes in Skye’s development, saying, “Ever since he started school at Smallville, he’s become very vocal and can easily express how he feels.
“His motor skills have also drastically improved, he used to be so clumsy.”
Perhaps the best part of Skye’s preschool experience is how attending class every day has allowed him to socialize with other children, especially since Skye was born in the middle of the pandemic.
Pancho says, “We love how sweet he is with his teachers and how he learned how to share and converse with his classmates.
“When he started school he preferred playing alone. Now, he’s excited to play with other children.
“We are very fortunate because Skye always looks forward to going to school, he loves his teachers and friends.”

Seeing Skye learn and make friends as he grows up is an experience that Pancho and Max share as his parents.
Pancho says, “When it comes to Skye, we set aside our differences.
“Having Skye taught us that, at the end of the day, the love and respect we have for each other should always be there because even if we are not together anymore, we will always be family.”
