Of the many disciplinary ways to raise kids, Michelle Madrigal is sticking to what has worked best for her daughter.
In an Instagram post dated April 15, 2024, the 35-year-old former actress writes about how child-rearing her firstborn Anika Austin Woolfolk, 6, has been a transformative journey that ultimately led her to opt for what is called "gentle parenting."

GENTLE PARENTING
She relates in her post, "Becoming a mom to Anika has transformed how I approach parenting.
"I’ve embraced conscious parenting, prioritizing her needs above all else.
"Coming from a different era, I had to learn the art of gentle parenting, aiming to create a deep bond with my daughter."

Michele swears by "gentle parenting"—an approach in which children are allowed their own space to grow and explore without restrictive supervision.

Even though some see the parenting method as too permissive, Michelle is all for it.
She cites its effect on her daughter, "I feel incredibly blessed that she confides in me without hesitation.
"My goal is to encourage a safe, nurturing environment for Anika and any future children I may have.
"I believe in providing guidance without TYING THEIR WORTH to achievements, whether it’s in sports or any other pursuit."

Michelle then reminds, "Parenting is complex; it’s about striking a balance between guidance and letting them explore.
"It truly takes a community filled with love, empathy, and patience to raise kind-hearted, respectful children."
