Melai Cantiveros values her daughters' opinions when it comes to expanding their family.
Talking to celebrity journalist MJ Felipe for her 15th showbiz anniversary party on April 8, 2024, the Magandang Buhay mainstay host answers questions about the possibility of having another baby.

Personally, she finds herself yearning for a boy: "Sana magka-baby para may boy kami.
"Tapos sana April din para April boy," she says, laughing.
However, Melai reveals that the decision to welcome a new family member is not solely up to her and husband Jason Francisco.
She explains why it is also essential to approach the subject with their two young daughters—Mela Francisco, 10, and Stela Francisco, 7.
"Hindi lang kami ang magdedesisyon, magdedesisyon din ang magkapatid [Mela and Stela]."
She reveals telling her daughters: "Kung gusto na, gagawin na namin ni Papa mo. Pero kung di mo pa gusto, part ka rin ng family, dapat isa ka rin sa magde-decide."
Melai affirms that at the moment, "Ayaw pa ni Stela."

In an episode of The Buzz aired on September 8, 2013, Melai revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda her plans to marry fellow Pinoy Big Brother alum Jason Francisco on December 9, 2013, and that she was already pregnant with their first child.
Their daughter, Amelia “Mela” Lucille was born in April 3, 2014 in Melai's hometown, General Santos City.
Melai gave birth to a second child, Stela Rosalind on April 9, 2017.
