In a Magandang Buhay episode aired on February 21, 2024, OPM artist Kyla Alvarez bared her soul when the topic shifted to 10-year-old Toby Alvarez.
The boy is the unico hijo of Kyla and her husband, the basketball player Rich Alvarez.
Even though she turned 43 a month back, Kyla got a a birthday greeting video from Toby, the show's surprise for her.

As Kyla received Toby's birthday wishes, emotions overwhelmed her.
With tears streaming down her face, she declaredToby to be the utmost priority in her life.
"Kapag anak na ang pinag-usapan, talagang parang walang ibang importanteng bagay o mas iimportante more than Toby," she said.
"I will forget everything, iiwan ko ang lahat para sa kanya. We just feel so lucky and blessed that we have you, anak. You are an amazing kid."
With a disheartened tone in her voice, Kyla then sent her apologies for the likely chance she would never be able to give Toby a sibling.
"And, whether or not magkakaroon ka ng sibling or ano — sorry, but we could not give it to you.
"But, I love you so much and now you have all our attention."
The celebrity mom added, "I promise that we will be here for you hanggang sa magkaanak ka.
"We will be here for you to guide you and love you, and just cherish every moment with you anak. I love you so much.
"Ikaw talaga, ikaw ang greatest gift namin ng daddy mo, ikaw. So thank you Lord dahil ibinigay ka Niya sa amin."
Earlier in the episode, Kyla revealed that she had recently suffered another miscarriage.
It was her fifth miscarriage, with the previous ones occurring in June 2022, July 2021, March 2018, and November 2018.
Despite the heartbreak, Kyla remains resolute in her lifelong commitment to Toby and their family.
