Over the weekend, Sheena Halili earned the praise of netizens for being a siguristang nanay.
To make sure she and her daughter Martina will not be exposed to COVID-19, she used a bike cover as their shield.
Sheena shared her experience on Instagram Stories, "Ladies and gentleman ang praning na nanay ni Martina."
The 35-year-old celebrity mom continued, "Dahil ayaw nang sumakay ni Martina sa bike niya, eto, ako na lang ang nagsuot ng rain cover ng bike niya [emoji]. Sasakay kami sa elevator [emoji]"
Sheena added that their daughter thought they were just playing, and she didn't mind other people seeing them with the bike cover.
"Akala ni Martina naglalaro kami," the Kapuso actress wrote.
"WALA! Nakakahiya pero alam ko naiintindihan nila [emoji]"
It took them quite a while to board the elevator since Sheena prefers not to have other people with them inside a small space.
She wrote in her Instagram post, "Ang tagal namin naghintay ayaw namin may kasabay sa elevator."
Sheena added, "Di pa nakapagmask si Martina.
"Alam ko nakakapagod na minsan kahit anong ingat naten tinatamaan parin sila ng sakit. Pero at least binibigay naten best naten to protect them walang 'sana pala.'"
Several netizens fully understood Sheena's kapraningan.
One netizen wrote in the comments section on GMA News' Facebook post, "Tama iyan, SAFETY FIRST. Mahirap magkasakit lalo na pag anak mo pa, nakakaawa tingnan pag ang anak mo nagkasakit lalo na pag baby."
Another one commended Sheena for making sure her baby won't be exposed to the coronavirus.
The netizen commented, "Ok nga Yan eh atleast dalawa sila may cover ayaw nya tamaan Ng COVID Ang baby nya, Hindi Gaya Ng mga nanay na sumasakay sa LRT sila mga nakafmask mga baby nila nakatiwang2 Ang mga mukha walang fmask salong salo Ng ilong at bibig Ng mga baby nila Ang viruz."
However, there were also others who showed concern about the proper ventilation. Didn't they have a hard time breathing?
A Facebook user commented, "Hindi na makahinga yan. Wag na lang po ilabas kung hindi kailangan. Tapos wala pa tama ventilation ang elevator. Ingat!"
But another netizen defended Sheena, "malay nyo naman baka may butas butas un cover nila kaya makakahinga parin naman cla ng maayus, ciempre bago yan gamitin ni Sheena inisip na nya ng maayus at tama kng pano ang gagawin nya sa kanila mag ina [emoji]"
Sheena gave birth to Martina on December 12, 2020, ten months after she got married to her non-showbiz husband Jeron Manzanero in February.
