Anne Curtis is having a moment now that her baby is starting to wean.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, August 8, 2021, Anne first opened up about her experience breastfeeding Baby Dahlia Amélie in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week.
Anne revealed her breastfeeding journey was filled with unforgettable moments—both good and bad.
The first-time celebrity mom wrote, "17 months of breastfeeding in some pretty random places [emoji] It wasn’t easy.
"I had my own struggles (let’s just say there was curling of toes & frozen cabbage involved -thanks mum) but it’s been an unforgettable first time journey so far.
"One I’ll always cherish. All the little moments shared between her and I (hair pulling and biting included)."
And now that Baby Dahlia Amélie has begun weaning, Anne has been feeling a sense of loss.
In her post, Anne reminded other moms that it's normal to feel quite nostalgic, even a little sad, when their baby stops suckling.
The It's Showtime host said, "I also just want to share that there’s one thing I wasn’t aware of, that I kinda wish I knew - when I started dropping feeds (when food became her main source of nutrients) my hormones started changing and I was just very quiet and felt somewhat melancholic."
At this point, her husband Erwan Heussaff was a great help.
Anne said, "I didn’t really notice till Erwan called me out. Did myself some reading and learned that it’s because of a drop of prolactin and oxytocin levels when you start to lessen feeds. [emoji]
"But since I am weaning slowly, and breastfeeding only 2-3 times a day na lang, it’s become somewhat a gentle wean that’s helped me not have such an abrupt shift in hormones.. but there’s definitely something that changes…
"So there, just thought I’d share that this happens.. just in case you’re like me, and didn’t know and can prepare yourself for when that time comes..
"I am definitely treasuring every moment of my bf journey while it lasts…"
Anne also left an encouraging message to other moms like her.
"And to all the mummas whom have had their own personal struggles with breastfeeding.
"You do you. You and your doctors will know what works for your little one and will keep them happy, busog and content."

Anne's celebrity friends sent their message of support in the comments section of her post.
TV host Bianca Gonzalez, who stopped breastfeeding her youngest child Carmen, could relate to Anne's experience.
She commented, "What a journey!!! Breastfeeding is one of if not the most difficult parts of my personal journey too, grabe the hormones and emotional rollercoasters! Nakakabaliw! But all for our kids. Great job mama! [emoji]"
Model and socialite Bianca Araneta-Elizalde commended Anne for promoting breastfeeding.
Bianca wrote, "Yes, breastfeeding can really do a number on your hormones but it’s so worth it! [moji] proud of you anne!! Well done and good job promoting breastfeeding. It’s so important to do so [emoji] I’m a HUGE breastfeeding advocate."
Jessy Mendiola, Angel Locsin, Issa Pressman, and Zsa Zsa Padilla also sent their messages of support to Anne.

Anne and Erwan welcomed Dahlia in Melbourne in March 2020, just days before the COVID-19 pandemic made traveling back to Manila risky and difficult.
The couple was able to settle back in Manila with their daughter almost a year after, in February 2021. This was weeks before the little Heussaff turned one.
