Andi Manzano was happy to say that her five-year-old daughter Olivia Reyes "loves almost all fruits."
The celebrity mother then enumerated her daughter's favorites: Grapes, strawberries, blueberries, mango, banana, pineapple, watermelon.
"Basically everything!," Andi beamed to the press during the Promil Organic media roundtable on August 13, 2020.
She went to say, "And when it comes to vegetables, she loves beans, she loves potatoes, she loves broccoli, she likes cauliflower, she likes pechay. She likes kangkong."
According to Andi, there was a time when Olivia didn't like bean sprouts or togue.
"Before, we would just eat lumpiang togue and I wouldn't tell her what's inside.
"Later on, as she got older, she would really remove the bean sprouts and just eat the wrapper.
"But now, you know slowly, she's eating bean sprouts and sometimes she eats it alone and she asks for it."
She said another vegetable that Olivia has learned to like and "eats almost every other day" is sayote.
Interestingly, Olivia also enjoys gardening, and Andi plans to give her a vegetable patch this year.
Teaching Olivia how to cook
Olivia's interest in gardening has helped her understand how food is produced.
And now Andi has been teaching her little girl how meals are prepared and cooked to better appreciate her food.
The radio DJ-vlogger said Olivia likes helping her prepare the ingredients and enjoys "peeling the garlic and the onion."
Andi has also been showing her how to use the knife properly.
She continued, "Whether it's cutting tomatoes or cutting beans or just any vegetable that's easy to cut, I'm slowly teaching her that."
Recently, Olivia made a simple breakfast—pancakes and egg.
Andi said, "She's still kinda scared because she thinks the stove is hot, so she's scared to touch the stove.
"But slowly, she's getting there... just the basics pa lang naman."
Olivia turned five in March. The other daughter of Andi and husband GP Reyes is year-and-a-half-old Amelia.
