Tanggap daw ni Richard Gomez, 54, na darating ang araw na magkaka-nobyo at mag-aasawa ang kanyang unica hija na si Juliana Gomez, 19.
Si Juliana ang nag-iisang anak ni Richard at ng asawa nitong si Lucy Torres, kasalukuyang representative ng Leyte fourth district sa Visayas.
Si Richard naman ang incumbent mayor ng Ormoc City.
Kuwento ni Richard tungkol sa kanyang anak: “She’s about to enter second year college kung matutuloy yung eskuwela…”
Kumukuha ng kursong Public Administration si Juliana sa University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
Dahil nag-iisang anak at nasa edad na, sinabi ni Richard na hindi siya nagkukulang sa paalala kay Juliana pagdating sa usaping pag-ibig at relasyon.
“It’s a fact of life that, one day, meron talagang manliligaw sa kanya.
“It’s a fact of life, that maybe one of these days, she’ll just decide to settle down and get married,” saad ng actor-turned-politician.
Sumalang ang aktor sa Facebook Live interview sa RX 93.1 FM radio station noong June 5.
"GOOD GAUGE" FOR THE RIGHT PERSON
Kuwento pa ni Richard, pinapayuhan niya ang anak na piliing mabuti ang magiging asawa sa hinaharap.
“But I always tell her, you really have to choose the person you want to marry, who’s going to make you happy.
“You choose somebody na you’re ready to wake up to every morning.”
Sa katunayan, ito rin daw ang payo ng alkalde sa kanyang mga kaibigang hindi pa ikinakasal.
“This is what I always tell my friends who want to get married.
“I always tell them, ‘We have to make sure that we’re ready to wake up with this person every waking morning.’
“Hindi puwedeng love mo lang siya ngayon.
“When you get married, that’s the face you will see the first thing, always.
“So, are you ready? Do you really love that person?
“That’s a good gauge.”
Idinagdag din ni Richard na dapat ay buo ang loob at isipan kapag lalagay na sa tahimik.
“And when you wanna get married, dapat wala talagang doubts. Not a single doubt.
“If you wanna marry a person, you have to be 100 percent sure.”
RICHARD ADVISES DAUGHTER TO CHOOSE SOMEONE WHO IS KIND
Pagdating kay Juliana, nasambit ni Richard na sigurado siyang may mga lalaking pinopormahan na ang kanyang anak.
“I’m sure may nanliligaw sa kanya.
“I know Juliana goes out once in a while and date with some friends.
“It’s a fact of life.”
Ang sabi raw niya kay Juliana, ingatan ang sarili at pumili ng isang mabuting tao.
“One day she’ll have a serious boyfriend.
"And as a parent, we really just have to be ready.
“And I just tell Juliana to always take care of herself and choose the right person.
“Kailangan mabait."
Patuloy ni Richard, “If you get into a relationship, make sure that the person treats you well.
“Hindi puwedeng boyfriend ‘tapos babastusin ka o sasaktan ka.
“I told her we have to keep our dignity and respect all the time.”
