This year marks a significant achievement for actor Teejay Marquez, as he finally moved into his dream home—a milestone that has filled him with pride and joy.
The actor is not only thrilled about this new chapter in his life but is also eagerly looking forward to celebrating Christmas in his new residence.
On December 11, 2024, in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Teejay expressed his excitement about spending Christmas at home for the very first time.
He shared, "Christmas plans, sa bahay lang kasi this is my first time parang mag-celebrate ng Christmas sa bahay," during the launch event of Casio G-Shock's G-Steel GM-700 series at Pablo Bistro in Makati City.
Adding to the sentiment, he said, "Kasi, yun, bago lang siya so, parang ngayon gusto ko ma-feel na nasa bahay lang."
TEEJAY MARQUEZ: FIVE-YEAR JOURNEY
Teejay hasn't shared much about his new home yet, given that it's only been a bit over a month since he moved in.
However, the Ben X Jim actor did reveal that his new place is quite spacious.
"It's a house, it's a three-story house, na may dalawang bedroom," he shared.
A significant portion of Teejay's home is dedicated to his business, with one-third of the space allocated for this purpose.
He mentioned that the first floor now functions as the office for his skincare brand, The Good Skin.
He explained, "Kasi yung first floor gagawin ko muna siyang office ng business ko. So, yeah, it's a skincare business so dun ko muna siya lalagay.
"So, hopefully sana next time makakaroon ako ng office, pero right now yung buong floor ko ng first floor siya muna yung studio-slash-office ko."
Teejay proudly considers this his "dream home," which took him five years to bring to life.
He said, "Talagang five years ko na siyang pina-plano.
"Ang dami ko nang iniisip, ang dami ko nang gusto pero nung nabubuo ko na siya paunti-unti, nakita ko na yung sarili ko, nakita ko na ito yung matagal ko nang pinapangarap.
"So, I believe and I know that it's my home."
Throughout the five-year journey to realizing his dream home, Teejay encountered various challenges.
Unsurprisingly, managing finances proved to be the most difficult part, as he needed to set aside funds while discovering the precise vision he had for his new home.
Reflecting on his experience, Teejay shared, "Mas matagal mag-ipon... Siyempre lahat ng kinikita ko naglalagay ako ng talagang savings for the house.
"So, habang nag-iipon ako, habang naiipon ko siya, naiipon din yung mga plans, yung mga gusto ko makita.
"Pero paiba-iba kasi nag-iiba-iba, e. Yung gusto ko nung five years ago, nag-iba na pero nandun pa rin yung ako."
TEEJAY MARQUEZ: DREAM HOME
Despite the constant changes during the construction, Teejay is simply grateful now that his dream home is finally completed and he has moved in.
When asked to describe it, he mentioned that his inspiration for the interior design is a blend of "Scandinavian meets Japanese Zen."
Teejay told PEP, "Peaceful, calm, and spacious. Parang ganun... Mas wood siya."
Primarily featuring earth tones and white, Teejay mentioned he's planning to introduce more colors into his new home through appliances and accent pieces.
He shared, "Very wood style, may mga ganun lang, and then may mga plants pero may bago ako na gusto ko ilagay e, kasi marami akong nakikita sa TikTok.
"Like may apartment, yung mga colorful vintage pieces, mga lamps.
"Yun yung mga target ko ngayon mabili, yung iba't ibang colors na lamps para magbigay ng mood sa bahay."
