Days before he turns 50 on December 17, Michael V. has started the renovation for their family home.
In the course of transferring to a temporary house while the renovations are ongoing, the Bubble Gang star took notice of the clutter, including the many items his family doesn't really need.
His Facebook post on December 2 read, "It’s my birthday month! Nagpapa-renovate kami ng bahay at habang naglilipat kami, napansin namin kung ga’no karami sa gamit namin ang hindi na namin ginagamit.
"Meron nga ring mga bago pa na hindi pa nagagamit ever. Parang na-guilty ako. Na-realize ko na I have everything I need and everything I want AND MORE!"
This prompted Michael V. to start decluttering.
He continued in his post, "So we decided to do something about it. Una, ibibigay na lang namin sa charitable institutions yung iba. 'Tapos yung iba, sa friends and relatives.
"Nagsimula na kaming magkahon para magamit ng mas makikinabang."
With the holidays right around the corner, Michael V. made an appeal to family and friends to help him keep the clutter under control.
His post read, "Magre-request ako sa mga kaibigan, kamag-anak at saka mga kakilala ko... baka puwedeng NO GIFTS THIS DECEMBER.
"I mean, no physical items. Hindi sa ayaw kong makatanggap ng kahit ano this Christmas and birthday ko, pero kung magre-regalo kayo baka puwedeng any of the following na lang: A prayer for good health. A simple, sincere greeting. A Like, Follow or Subscribe sa social media accounts ko.
"Biruin mo, hindi ka na mahihirapan mag-isip ng ibibigay, siguradong maa-appreciate ko pa! It’s a win-win situation!"
Michael V. ended his post with a Chrsitmas greetintg, "Happy Holidays everyone! Hope we all discover the true meaning of Christmas this year."
This 2019 marked a number of milestones for Bitoy (his nickname) and his family.
In July, he surprised his wife Carol Bunagan with a grand party to celebrate her 50th birthday.
The couple also renewed their wedding vows on their 25th wedding anniversary in February in Amanpulo, Palawan.
