Ginunita ng former sexy star turned chef at restaurant owner na si Aya Medel ang unang taon niya bilang brain aneurysm survivor.
Ayon sa healthline.com, ang brain aneurysm ay "deformity of an artery where a spot in the arterial wall in the brain bulges and fills with blood."
Wala itong edad na pinipili at hindi dapat balewalain.
Nakasaad pa rito: "A brain aneurysm is a potentially life-threatening condition that can affect a person at any age. If a brain aneurysm bursts, or ruptures, it’s an emergency situation that can result in a stroke, brain damage, and even death if not treated immediately."
Sa Instagram noong Sabado April 26, 2025, nagbahagi ng update si Aya tungkol sa mga kaganapan ng kanyang buhay.
"Forever grateful [praying hands emoji]," panimula niyang mensahe sa kanyang followers.
Kasunod nito ang pagpapasalamat ni Aya sa lahat ng mga tumatangkilik sa kanyang restaurant sa Albay.
Lalo na sa maraming gumradweyt na piniling sa kanilang restaurant magsalu-salo.
Saad ni Aya: "I know it has been a while since my last update, but I want to express my gratitude to our continuous clients at IshiAya's Garden Bistro.
"Your trust and love mean the world to us. I'm beyond honored that many of you continue to choose to celebrate your most special moments with us.

Mula noon, araw-araw raw niyang ipinagpapasalamat na siya ay nabigyan ng pagkakataong magpatuloy pa sa buhay.
Saad ni Aya: "Today also marks one year since l survived an aneurysm. It's a deeply humbling reminder of how precious life is.
"I'm thankful every single day for another chance.

Nagbalik-tanaw rin si Aya sa mga "once-in-a-lifetime" moment niya.
Lalo na ang pagkakataong nakadaupang-palad nila ng anak niyang si Simon ang yumaong si Pope Francis.

AYA MEDEL: "I had a brain aneurysm, but I survived."
Noong September 21, 2024, ibinahagi ni Aya sa kanyang social media followers na inatake siya ng brain aneurysm.
Pagbabahagi niya: "I am back...
"Many people are wondering what happened to me, why suddenly I stopped posting, talking to people, and I was gone for months.
"Yes! I had a brain aneurysm, but I survived."
Hindi nagdetalye si Aya kung paano siya naka-recover.
Pero ayon sa medical websites, surgery ang kinakailangan upang pigilan ang pagputok o lunasan ang ruptured aneurysm.
Bukod sa surgery, posible ring sumailalim ang pasyente sa "physical, speech and occupational therapy," ayon sa webMD website.
Kasunod nito, nagpasalamat si Aya sa mga taong tumulong, lalo na ang kanyang pamilya at mga kapwa ina na nagsugod sa kanya sa ospital nang nag-collapse siya.
Sabi ni Aya: "I'd like to thank the following people who’s gone through it with me. To my daughter Ishi and son Simon, and to Ei for being there for me when I needed you the most. To Laylene for staying beside me during the crucial period and to the whole family, for your love and support.
"I'd also like to give a special thanks to the fellow mommies who brought me to the hospital when I fell ill."
Hindi rin niya kinalimutan ang mga doktor, nurses, at hospital staff na nagtulung-tulong noong siya ay naka-confine.
Dagdag niya: "To the surgeons, doctors, nurses and to all the staff of Cardinal Santos Hospital, most specially to my Neurosurgeon, Dr. Jay Villavicencio, for performing endovascular coiling as the medical management choice for my condition.
"A special thanks to Dr. Ranoa & Dr.Jimenez, I cannot express how much I am thankful for your exceptional desire to please your patients. I just wanted to write and express my gratitude for your great treatment.
"Please know how very deeply | appreciate what you have done for me.
"Thank you all for the well wishes and for your prayers during those difficult times.
"I wouldn't be alive right now if not because to all of you."
