Despite being a regular target of body shaming and offensive comments, Chie Filomeno is determined to continue her battle against these issues on social media.
On Friday, August 23, 2024, the ABS-CBN star posted a photo on Instagram, showcasing her green bikini while enjoying her time in Cebu.

In the caption, she greeted her followers with "Maayong udto, Cebu," joined by a coconut tree emoji.
Among those who showed support for Chie's Instagram post were her boyfriend Jake Cuenca, content creator Esnyr Ranollo, and model EJ Nacion.

However, Chie still faced negative remarks regarding her body.
A netizen commented on her Instagram post, "Genuine question, anorexic ba siya."
Chie responded, "genuine answer nope. tao po ako."

ABS-CBN News also shared Chie's photo on its Facebook page, attracting some body-shaming comments from netizens.


CHIE FILOMENO: NO TO BODY-SHAMING
Following the body-shaming remarks, the Star Magic talent took to her social media platforms to reaffirm her stance against such negativity.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, Chie reposted on Instagram a 2018 statement addressing the harmful impact of body shaming and derogatory comments on mental health.
Body shaming should cease.
She also encouraged everyone to focus on positive reinforcement.
Her post, published as is: "We live in a society that demands so much from us, you have to be this, you have to be that well in fact you just have to be YOU! You do you!
"How sad that there are so many cruel people in this amazing universe, and that some girls are bringing each other down when we should be the one lifting each other up.
"Body shaming is not okay, it'll never be okay. Not ever. Body shaming needs to stop!
"Fat or skinny may it be a woman or a man. It needs to stop. Everyone is beautiful in their own skin don't let them tell you otherwise.
"Stop talking about fat or skinny women or men like their bodies are a tragedy. Their bodies are beautiful.
"Every body is beautiful. We are all beautiful! No body is a tragedy. And don't ever let anyone shame you for being you."

It can be recalled that 2018 was also the year when Chie was defending herself against severe criticisms about her appearance and her choice to get a cosmetic enhancement.
