No more baby no. 5 for Drew Arellano and Iya Villania?
In a recent episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on June 29, 2023, the couple insinuated they were stopping at four children, with Drew even hinting at having a vasectomy operation soon.
What has changed since January of this year when they intimated to their fans about the possibility of adding a new member to Team Arellano?

In the show, Drew playfully mentioned in his birthday message to Iya his plan of getting a vasectomy,
A vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure that serves as a form of male birth control by preventing sperm from leaving the body.
The host of Biyahe ni Drew said, "You're the best mother to all the kids, and, uh, I will do my vasectomy soon," which elicited laughter from Iya.

Caught off guard, Boy Abunda asked if that was a joke.
With Iya at his side, Drew firmly said, "No, that's the plan. That's our plan."
Boy's prying question about stopping at four children prodded Iya to quip, "Let's see. Until he gets it done, we never know, right?"
She added, mischievously, "Hindi naman bukas yung schedule, di ba?"

BACKSTORY TO DREW'S DECISION
Drew and Iya tied the knot on January 31, 2014.
According to Drew during a guesting earlier this month on the Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel podcast, their original plan was to have two kids—a boy and a girl.
He said, "I think we were aiming for one muna and then the second one, kung naging girl si Leon, I think that would've been it, you know? Primo and Leona. Okay na."
That was wishful thinking more than a plan as the only possible way to choose the gender of the baby is through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

As it happened, the Kapuso couple's firstborn was a boy and their second child turned out to be another boy.
They decided to try for another baby, hoping for a daughter to complete their vision.
Drew explained to Pia Arcangel, "Well, naging lalaki nga, so parang sabi namin, 'Let's try another one.' Kung babae, ok na. So, we thought yun na yun."
Their desire for a girl led them to make a unique decision. During their third pregnancy, they chose not to know the gender ahead of time.
Drew revealed, "So anyway, it was during the pandemic pa rin ito, this 2020. I couldn't go to the delivery room, so I was just waiting sa room namin and then, dinala na yung baby and like 'Color pink!'
"So iba, iba rin yung feeling ng having a girl lalo na two years in."

The arrival of their daughter, Alana, brought a new level of affection and tenderness into their lives, deepening Drew's understanding of the unique bond between fathers and daughters.
He related that his friends who have daughters would always tell him, "Iba talaga yung lambing ng girl towards guys, towards the dads."
Fortunately, he exceeded his own expectations, "And then, yeah, two years in, I totally get it now, I totally get it now na parang, ‘Papa!’ parang ang hirap pagalitan."
When asked by Pia about the possibility of expanding their family further, Drew responded, "I think my wife is waiting for me to undergo vasectomy already. Okay na, we're good."
Drew and Iya welcomed their eldest child Antonio Primo on August 30, 2016, Alonzo Leon on August 19, 2018, Alana Lauren on July 18, 2020, and Astro Phoenix on June 4, 2022.
