Content creator-comedian Gabo Adeva took to social media to reveal that she was diagnosed with stage 2 eye cancer.
On Saturday, September 17, 2022, Gabo shared on Instagram a photo of her ultrasound which shows the tumor on her right eye.
In the caption, Gabo revealed that she had several consultations with optometrists and oncologists about her eye condition. All had the same findings — she has a cancerous tumor on her right eye.
Gabo wrote (published as is), "I HAVE CANCER. Yes! You read it right, stage 2 Eye Cancer.
"First strike sa right eye, mabubuhay pa naman but it doesn't change the fact that I'm diagnosed with cancer. From several optemetricians down to oncologists.
"Pumunta pa nga ako sa Shinagawa, same findings at ito na nga...cancer cells that could spread throughout my sexy ass kung hindi ko ipapatanggal ang right eye ko at papalitan ng artificial eye.
"I'm perfectly functioning as normal, not bed ridden or anything. (Not yet atleast wag na sana tayo umabot dun 20 years young palang ako haha!)"
The 20-year-old social media personality also said that she has to undergo Enucleation Surgery (eye removal surgery) to prevent the cancer cells from spreading to other parts of her body.
The surgery is scheduled on Friday, September 23, 2022.
She said, "Pumayag na agad ako sa eye removal (Enucleation Surgery on Friday at Medical City) para hindi ako mapaaga jusko gusto ko pang umarte sa harap ng camera at mapanuod sa bigscreen noh!
"Ano yun nalang yon? Aayaw pa ba ako? Artistang may artificial eye haha!
"We already did several tests to make sure na hindi pa kumakalat ang cancer cells sa liver ko at kung saan pa man.
"Wag naman na sana, gibs ko na nga kanang mata ko oh haha!"
Towards the end of her post, Gabo asked her social media followers to pray for her fast recovery and thanked everyone who has shown their support.
She wrote, "Life is a roller coaster ride indeed. Help me pray for my fast healing process and no more cancer cells para mabuhay pa ng matagal akesivolity.
"Thank you to those people who believed in me, sa passion ko sa craft ko sa pagarte and etc.
"I won't stop dreaming just because I'm diagnosed with something deadly. Hangga't humihinga focus tayo sa goal.
"Kung umabot mas maganda, kung hindi edi mamahinga. Gabo's still kicking, cíao [emoji]."
Gabo rose to fame during the pandemic for her funny videos on TikTok. Currently, she has over 1.6 million followers on the said video-sharing app.
