Alexa Ilacad posts her bikini photo on Instagram for the first time, and those who know her can consider it a milestone.
In the age of social media, posting swimsuit selfies is quite an ubiquity.
But not for the 21-year-old star.
Her caption explains why: “Work on you, for you. [butterfly emoji] It took me all my courage to post this [cry emoji], but self-love is a lifetime journey and even though learning how to love myself and the body.
"I’ve been blessed with is an everyday battle, I’m still proud of my progress.”
In the comments section, the Kapamilya actress further reveals, "It took me years to even get myself in a bikini and months thinking if i should dare to post it... i’m still shaking up to now..."

Fellow celebrities and fans cheer Alexa on her newfound confidence.
Barbie Imperial, Chie Filomeno, Michelle Vito, and Loisa Andalio are pleasantly surprised.
Agot Isidro, Iza Calzado,Kakai Bautista, Karen Reyes, Alora Sasam, Sam Cruz, and Vivoree drop fire, heart, and raising hand emojis.

Meanwhile, Albie Casino calls Alexa "lods" [idol] for her abs.

The 21-year-old star has previously worn “wholesome” swimsuits...

...and would normally put an emoji on her cleavage.

For someone who’s been in showbiz since she was four years old, Alexa is surely used to be in the spotlight.
But her job entails looking good, and it easily attracts bashing.
So at the age of 14, she started getting into pole dancing as part of her fitness routine.
At the age of 17, she tried a “food-intolerance diet."
In a past interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), she then revealed, “Very specific, they got my blood, it’s different from the blood type, so I found out which works for me.
"Hindi man siya super halata pero medyo mahirap kasi ako mag-lose ng weight. Slowly but surely.”
Of late, she has been swimming; doing yoga to find her balance; staying fit with her jump rope.

She also joins Sparta_ph's online classes.

At present, the sports facility has trainings for Kalos (or "beauty in Greek), which focuses on "cardio, conditioning, weight loss, functional movements, and core training," as well as Sthenos (or strength in Greek), which focuses on "lean muscle building and strength workouts."
