Unlike ladies, guys just need a handful of shoes in their wardrobe.
Typical dudes will argue, "Kahit isa nga lang."
But Benjamin Alves said it pays to have extra pairs which can be worn during special occasions or rainy days.
His style preferences had all been aligned with his "very classic" taste.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment), he elaborated, "Very American classic ako. You always see me wearing a sweater, grays and whites, very muted.
"Seldom when I'll be able to pull off anything vanguard."
Here are five of his must-have pairs for men.
BLACK LEATHER SHOES
Own at least a pair of formal footwear for formal occasions such as weddings, balls, etc.
CASUAL WORK SHOES
In his case, it's a pair of brown leather work shoes.
But loafers and slip-ons will also look great regardless of the office's setting and the guy's work wear.
BOOTS
This pair is so versatile that it can be worn at work, in special occasions, or, during hiking activities.
TRAINING SHOES
Some wear their training shoes to office. That's okay.
Some however reserve them just for workout days because they do not come cheap.
SNEAKERS
Ben said he has enough pairs to wear the whole week.
"I have a lot. Every time I go back home or here, I'd probably say I have enough for a week for sure.
"I have two white ones, one for a beater, every-day beater, and another one is just for special occasions.
"Kasi pag puti kailangan talaga malinis, e. I have two black ones, a blue one, and two Jack Purcells," a collection under Converse.
