Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco is set to unveil his latest collection at The Philippine Legacy Gala, taking place at the Marriott Hotel on December 2, 2024.

Cinco, renowned for his breathtaking designs that have graced celebrities and royalty worldwide, returns as the event's featured designer for the second time.

The Catbalogan-raised designer views his participation not only as an opportunity to showcase his talent but also as a chance to support a significant cause.

The Philippine Legacy Gala is an annual charity event dedicated to raising funds to support vulnerable communities in the Philippines.

This year, the gala will raise funds for the Philippine Missionari della Fondazione di Carità, Inc., a non-profit organization that aids the Missionaries of Charity, whose programs include providing access to education, livelihood training for women, and healthcare services.

"Having my collection showcased at the Philippine Legacy Gala charity event to help poor families in Manila is profoundly meaningful to me," Cinco told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview.

michael cinco Roman-Inspired Collection

Cinco’s latest collection draws profound inspiration from the grandeur of ancient Rome.

Titled "Impalpable Dream of Eternal City Roma," it seeks to translate the timeless elegance of Roman art and architecture into high fashion. The collection will feature Roman influences, including sophisticated details and opulent textures.

“I will incorporate Roman elements such as arches, columns, and intricate stonework patterns into my designs. I'm also planning to create pieces inspired by Roman mosaics, art, and sculpture,” Cinco shared.

Each piece is designed to pay homage to the grandeur of Roman artistry, with ornate columns and elaborate mosaic patterns that evoke the splendor and refinement of ancient Rome.

According to Cinco, the new collection represents a significant shift from Cinco’s previous works, notably the "Impalpable Dream of España" collection presented at the Philippine Legacy Gala in 2023.

“While 'Impalpable Dream of España' highlighted the vibrancy of Spain with nods to traditional Spanish dance, festivals, and the Spanish Golden Age, this Roman-inspired collection offers a fresh and nuanced exploration of Roman history and culture,” Cinco said.

“The new collection will echo the opulence and grandeur of ancient Rome, with references to its architecture, sculptures, and classical designs,” he added.
