I just enjoy fashion. Issa [Pressman] is one of the most fashionable people I know. She's influenced me a lot. We're just having a lot of fun together going to these shows."

Earlier this year, James Reid made a significant stride into the international fashion arena, joining the ranks of other Filipino celebrities who have graced fashion-week events abroad.

In mid-January 2024, he made his inaugural appearance at Men’s Fashion Week in Milan, Italy, attending menswear shows by renowned luxury brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani, Tod's, and Fendi, among others.

James talked about his experience in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) before the advance screening—in partnership with Maya—of Lisa Frankenstein held at SM Aura on February 6.

"It was just a lot of fun, to be honest. We went to shows, we ate some good Italian food, we did a lot of shopping. I can't wait to go back."

But James clarified that he doesn't aspire to be a top fashionista like Heart Evangelista.

"I wouldn't say I'm a fashionista like Heart is. I was just got invited to come and watch the shows, so I was surprised.

"And I guess, once people knew I'm going there, a lot of different invites came in.

"They wanted me to go to the show. So I'm very lucky. I'm very grateful. These fashion houses asked me to come and watch the shows.

"A lot of them dressed me up. It's just a fun experience."

JAMES REID: ENJOYING FASHION

James can't wait to attend more shows in the future.

"I hope to go back again in July, maybe even in New York. We'll see."

What insights did he gain from the experience?

James answered, "It definitely influenced me in terms of fashion. Just to see the quality and the fearlessness in a lot of the lines.

"It was just very inspiring. I might even start my own fashion line one day."

But again, the Careless founde emphasized that he's simply enjoying fashion without a specific goal.

Additionally, he acknowledged his girlfriend, Issa Pressman, for being a significant influence on his personal style.

He said, "But there's no real goal, really. I just enjoy fashion.

"Issa is one of the most fashionable people I know. She's influenced me a lot.

"We're just having a lot of fun together going to these shows."

JAMES REID ON LIZA SOBERANO

Meanwhile, as a manager, James was very proud of Careless talent Liza Soberano's remarkable stint as Taffy in Lisa Frankenstein.

"I've actually seen one of the first versions of the film, but then I'm finally seeing the final version of the film, and it was hilarious.

"To see Hope [Liza's other name], she was both funny and just a really great actress.

"It was a different type of, I guess, genre for her that we've ever seen Liza in. And I think she killed it. She was honestly one of the best parts of the film."

He added, "I think she really shined in this movie. Especially the beginning. She even had the last scene too, which was great.

"She really shined in this film. She's not a comedian, but she has very good comedic timing. She knows what she's doing."

When asked about his favorite part of the film, he answered, "...her reaction when the guy gets murdered right in front of her, and then parts are flying in the air, 'On the Wings of Love' is playing. I thought that was hilarious."

When asked about Liza's next project, James replied, "I really can't speak too much right now... and she'll be there for a while. But she does have other projects coming soon."
