Netizens were baffled by the remarkably casual outfit of GMA-7 star Alden Richards at the second edition of Sparkle Spell Halloween Party.
The Kapuso actor sported a black shirt featuring a Godzilla print, which he paired with jeans and sneakers, all the while holding a bouquet of flowers.
Believe it or not, that was actually his Halloween costume.
His inspiration?
None other than Lance Sandoval, the character he portrayed in his recent film Five Breakups and a Romance, where he shared top billing with Julia Montes.

Spoiler alert: Alden's Halloween costume was lifted from a scene at the beginning of the movie.
Lance is visiting Justine, who is played by Julia, at her workplace in Singapore.
In a quick chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other press members at the black carpet, Alden unveiled additional layers to his costume and explained its deeper meaning.
He said, "I am dressed as my character dun sa movie na Five Breakups and a Romance, si Lance Sandoval.
"So, parang hindi pa kasi nare-reveal kung bakit talaga Godzilla yung logo sa T-shirt ni Lance.
"So ngayon ko siya i-reveal. Alam naman natin na si Godzilla is a wrecker of cities, di ba?
"...Pag napapanood natin this past sa mga movies niya, lagi siyang ganun, the destroyer.
"So kaya suot ni Lance yun, ang analogy nun is parang siya yung sisira sa buhay ni Justine. Pero siya nga ba?
"And ano pa bang mas malaking horror sa buhay natin, e, kundi masira ang ating buhay?
"So this is a very deep costume pero simpleng-simple."
