Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi conveyed her Marawi outreach experience last year on to the international stage.

On January 12, 2023, candidates for the 71st Miss Universe strutted down the preliminary stage wearing swimsuits and a cape to symbolize the cause they are supporting.

Celeste's LIVA Fluid Fashion cape was customized with the handprints of kids from Marawi during her visit to the province with Save the Children (STC) Philippines.

LIVA stands for the high quality fabric made using eco-friendly, sustainable material such as the natural cellulosic fibres of Aditya Birla Group.

ADVOCACY

The Philippine bet has actively collaborated with the organization, relating that her goal is to make children's voices heard on a large-scale platform.

She stated, "I’ve been working very closely with Save the Children Philippines which is an organization that focuses on eradicating hunger and malnutrition amongst children.

"I’ve been going to many remote places here in the Philippines. When you get to know the children and hear their stories, it touches your heart...

"And that is something that I really wanted to bring in the Miss Universe stage, to amplify those voices of these children."
