Social media content creator Mimiyuuuh has relaunched her own clothing brand called FANGS.
On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, Mimiyuuuh unveiled a new collection of FANGS consisting of two tops and one made-to-order pants.
A fashion design graduate, Mimiyuuuh created FANGS in July 2017. She described it on Instagram as a "contemporary street style brand that empowers women through unconventional and rugged clothing,"
According to the brand's official website, the price of the new designs ranges from PHP1,935 to PHP6,000.
The 25-year-old entrepreneur expressed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) her relief that her year-long passion project finally has come to fruition after hurdling the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Naalala ko pa nga yung in-IG story ko, parang ano siya, swatches ng mga tela," she said during the launch of Klook Philippines at Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque City.
"June pa yun last year, and because of mga instances ng pandemic, sobrang nahirapan kaming i-launch yung brand.
"But now, we relaunched my brand last February. And ayun, sobrang excited ako and super happy ako about it kasi yun talaga yung dream ko."
Mimiyuuuh told PEP.ph that the new line of FANGS streetwear upgrades the brand's pioneer collection in terms of style and wearability.
"Nung college, I designed something na what I think is beautiful to my aesthetic, to my beliefs, ganyan.
"And now, I designed something na I think magugustuhan ng mga consumers and, at the same time, parang mabu-boost yung self-esteem nila kapag sinuot nila yung creations ko.
"So yeah, I guess ganun. Mas wearable, mas wearable siya."
Mimiyuuuh elaborated, "Ako, I love young silhouette kapag broad shoulders, mas magmumukhang small yung waist mo kaya ganun yung mga silhouette nung mga design."
FANGS is a one-man team with Mimiyuuuh doing all aspects of the business, not that she's complaining.
She said, "Kasi ako po, super hands-on ko po talaga. So even with photo shoots, kahit sa pag-produce po nung mga damit, ako po talaga sobrang hands-on po ako.
"And wala naman po akong budget for marketing, so ako lahat. So ayun siguro yung struggle ng pagiging one-man team ko."
Mimiyuuuh started working on her clothing brand as early as January 2021.
In an e-mail she had sent to PEP.ph, she wrote, "My goal this year is to have my own clothing line... I don’t want to pressure myself. I will try my best! Hihi"
It didn't happen then, and it may have taken her over a year to relaunch FANGS, but what matters now is Mimiyuuuh finally reaching her goal.
