Nakabilang ang tatlong Filipino senior high school students sa Top 25 semifinalists sa Young Founders Summit 2022.
Sila ang kakatawan sa Pilipinas sa gaganaping Demo Day sa darating na December 9-10, 2022 sa Singapore.
Ang Team Pilipinas ay kinabibilangan nina Xyrelle Supremo, 17, ng Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Campus; James Bermudo, 16, ng Claret School of Quezon City; at Aldrich Alvarez, 17, ng Caloocan National Science and Technology High School.
Ang Young Founders Summit ay isa sa nangungunang startup competitions and entrepreneurship programs para sa middle school and high school students na edad 11 hanggang 18.
Ayon kay Xyrelle sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong October 28, “Out of hundreds of applications, our team was one of the very few who were able to get into the Top 25 Semifinalist, and one of only two teams coming from the Philippines.”
Makakaharap nila sa kumpetisyon ang mga teams mula sa Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Romania, at iba pa.
Dagdag ni Xyrelle, “This would be an amazing opportunity, not only for us but also for the Philippines to be put on the map as a country with young entrepreneurs who are making a difference.”
Binanggit din niya ang tungkol sa project ng kanilang grupo.
“We'll be pitching our startup, Hypershelter, in front of a panel of judges and an audience of investors, entrepreneurs, and educators.
“Hypershelter is a low-cost solar-powered rental tent for LGUs, which is made from 100 percent recycled material and designed with a biomimetic structure for more durability.”
Lahad ni Xyrelle, naisip umano nila ang proyekto dahil na rin sa sitwasyon na mahigit 20 bagyo ang dumadaan sa ating bansa taun-taon, at maraming kababayan natin ang nawawalan ng tirahan.
"Our goal is to shelter a hundred thousand homeless Filipinos by 2025.”
May hiling sana ang kanilang team.
Paliwanag ni Xyrelle, “Unfortunately, our team does not have the financial resources to cover the costs of our flight and accommodation, which is why we are reaching out to you.
“Until now maski one peso, wala po talaga kami, eh, December na po ang event. Sana po by next month ay makabili na kami ng ticket.”
Para sa mga may mabubuting kalooban at handang tulungan ang ating mga talented na kinatawan sa Young Founders Summit, ang anuman pong kontribusyon ay malaking tulong na rin sa kanilang proyekto na ang layunin ay mapagaan ang dalahin ng mga kababayan nating inaabot ng kalamidad.
