South Cotabato women farmers produce eco bags from rice straws

The pandemic has limited the movement of goods in the country, making work as a farmer much more difficult than it already is.

Enter the women farmers of the People's Action for a Liberative Agricultural Industry (PALAI) who have found a new way to make a living and to gain more from their harvests.

After harvest season, rice straws were usually burned and that wasn't good for the environment.

A member of PALAI then suggested recycling the straws and turning them into eco bags.
