The brightest Kapamilya love teams paid tribute to their beloved Johnny Manahan, the man who formed ABS-CBN's talent management arm 25 years ago.
Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Liza Soberano, and Enrique Gil led the surprise production number inspired by the 2016 Oscar-nominated musical film La La Land.
With Ryan Cayabyab orchestrating the music, Daniel started the tribute by serenading the crowd with the song "City of Stars."
This segued into an all-out dance production with the G-Force.
Kathryn appeared in a yellow mini dress and performed "Somewhere in the Crowd."
Daniel briefly joined his love-team partner on the dance floor for a short but super-kilig moment.
Then, Liza and Enrique emerged and reenacted the famous dance of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the film.
Enrique showcased some of his tap-dancing skills in a beige two-piece attire, while Liza dazzled in a blue mini dress.
Just before the finale, McCoy de Leon, Elisse Joson, Elmo Magalona, Janella Salvador, Iñigo Pascual, and Maris Racal joined Liza, Enrique, Kathryn, and Daniel onstage.
After the performance, the man who is popularly known as Mr. M stood to applaud his talents and to blow them kisses.
He approached the love teams on the dance floor as Martin Nievera, the night's host, called on former ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio to give a speech.
Charo told Mr. M: "I know how you don't like tributes and surprises. I hope you're not upset. I hope you're pleasantly surprised.
"I hope you make tonight an exception."
Mr. M replied, "Best surprise, best surprise."
Mr. M's former Star Magic talents Kristine Hermosa and Claudine Barretto presented their gifts to Star Magic's top honcho.
