Marjorie Barretto's week just keeps getting better.
Fresh from receiving a Hyundai minivan from her daughter Julia Barretto, and celebrating youngest child Erich’s acceptance into Oxford University’s summer program, the proud mom marks yet another personal triumph.
This time, she celebrates it with her son Leon.

Marjorie graduates from college
Today, August 13, 2025, Marjorie takes to Instagram to share the news that she had officially graduated from college at 51 years old.
In a lengthy post, she reflects on the winding journey that led her to this moment.
She describes it as a dream long deferred by the demands of show business, raising her children, serving in public office, running a business, and building a life.
Her caption, in part, reads: "At 51 years old, I finally wore this cap and gown. [graduation cap]
“For years, finishing college was a dream tucked away — paused for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life.
“But God never forgot.
“In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line.
“The sweetest part? My children were there to witness it — taking my photos and videos, handing me flowers and gifts. A moment so surreal, a full circle moment.”
She then expresses gratitude to her alma mater and to a fellow celebrity mom who inspired her.
“I want to thank Philippine Women’s University @mypwu_official for opening your doors and making this chapter possible,” she writes.
“I also want to thank my dear friend @iloveruffag for starting this journey for so many of us — she graduated first, lovingly encouraged me to go back to college, and always reminded me that I could do it.
“To my loved ones who inspired me, pushed me, and talked me out of my panic and anxieties — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“And to those my age who still carry dreams in their hearts: it’s never too late, and you are never too old, to realize the dreams God placed in you.”

Graduating with son Leon
As it turns out, Marjorie isn't the only Barretto celebrating academic success this year.
Her 22-year-old son, Leon, is also set to graduate this August, completing his marketing degree from the University of Asia and the Pacific.
On his own Instagram page, Leon shared a sweet photo of himself and his mom in their graduation robes.
“Not a lot of people can say they graduated college the same year as their mom,” he wrote.
“It’s really never too late—congratulations, mom! Truly an inspiration to my siblings and me.”
