Anticipation fills the air for celebrity couple Megan Young and Mikael Daez as they prepare to welcome their baby boy.
On December 28, 2024, they joyfully announced the news on social media after revealing the gender to their close friends and family at a Mario Kart-themed party in their new studio.
Mikael shared the occasion's highlights on his Instagram Reels, accompanied by the caption (published as is): "[heart emojis] Gender reveal!!! [heart emojis]
"We transformed the studio for a lively gathering and encouraged everyone to wear either pink or blue to make their predictions. Such a wonderful time! [emoji]."
The video also captured the guests' reactions upon discovering they were having a boy.
Initially, both Megan and Mikael guessed they might be welcoming a girl.
Megan said, "We're going to find out the gender of our baby. Well, my guess is girl."
Mikael added, "I was thinking there was a 90% chance it's a girl, but now when I woke up, I felt it was only an 80% chance."
Megan then checked the results, "When I open my laptop, the picture of the screenshot of the results is there, and we'll see."
The couple were taken by surprise.
The video transitioned to lively scenes from the party, where the guests cheered upon learning that Mikael and Megan are having a baby boy.
MIKAEL DAEZ AND MEGAN YOUNG'S DIY GENDER REVEAL PARTY
In an Instagram post dated January 7, 2025, Megan shared details of how she and Mikael personally organized their gender-reveal party.
The couple took a hands-on approach, preparing the party decorations themselves.
Some of the photos revealed that Megan's siblings, Victor and Lauren, also helped in putting together the charcuterie board.
Megan captioned her post (published as is):
"Super late post because... life and holidays [emoji]. Finally sorted all our pictures and wanted to share photos from our gender reveal.
"We opted to set up everything ourselves because we wanted to celebrate the news with our loved ones in a fun and meaningful way."
Megan then detailed their efforts: "Here are some of the things we did: [emoji] served pizza, pancit, coffee, lots of snacks!!, [emoji] set up a couple of balloons for decoration, [emoji] had a gaming area where people could play Mario Kart, [emoji] painting station for the creatives, [emoji] good music, [emoji] fun games with lego prizes."
Mikael also took to Instagram to share his experience in organizing their DIY gender reveal party.
In his post, he wrote (published as is): "There’s something so magical and fulfilling about doing something on your own.
"Boneezy [Megan's nickname] and I have always planned our own trips and adventures and little did we know that we’d do the same for our gender reveal but here we are…
"All we knew was that we wanted it to be easy going and full of people we love.
"We sprinkled a bit of our personality on top and that was it— a fun and memorable day that couldn’t get any better. [emoji]."
