Ai-Ai delas Alas's husband Gerald Sibayan is now a pilot after finishing the course for one year and four months at the Asian Institute of Aviation in Subic, Zambales.
Part of Batch 2018 Quebec, Gerald received his diploma on March 10, at the Buena Casa Hotel, Subic.

Present at his graduation ceremony was his wife of two years Ai-Ai and their son Seth Andrei.

Gerald's parents Gregorio and Linda Sibayan also went onstage.

The Kapuso star couldn't help but shed tears of joy for her husband, whom she proudly addressed as Captain Sibayan.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Thank you for not giving up sa dream niya na maging piloto. Sinasabi ni Gerald sa akin na mahirap daw, pero kinaya niya. Nagpasalamat siya sa akin dahil natupad ko ang pangarap niya na maging piloto.
“I’m so happy and proud of him.
"Mahal na mahal ko siya dahil hindi natatapos ang kanyang pangarap na maging maayos at mabuti ang aming pamilya, at ang pangako niya na gagawin ang lahat para mabuhay ako nang kumportable at marangya.”

Gerald, for his part, thanked Ai-AI in the video which was shown during the ceremony.
“My wife is super supportive of my dreams,” he said, also recounting his first solo flight from Zambalez to Vigan, Ilocos Sur. It was a dream come true for him.
Gerald's next goal is to get his pilot certificate.
But first, he will have to take the CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) exam.
After passing the exam, the next step is the Check Ride, an oral exam and practical flying test.
