Hair color has always been trendy.

Celebrities such as Jodi Sta. Maria, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, KZ Tandingan, and Yeng Constantino frequent the salon to have their hair dyed in different colors.

Some people had gone experimental by sporting reds, blues, violets, and pink hair colors, other than the usual browns and blondes.

In the recent years, "ombre" style, where the roots start with a dark color and the ends are colored with a shade two or three shades lighter, had become all the rage.

Then the substitute to ombre, which is "sombre," was introduced. This time, the change of color is more seamless than ombre.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a quick chat with hairstylist and TRESemme Hair Professional Henri Calayag during the #ControlYourFrizz salon-at-home mini soiree on September 28, in Makati City.

We asked if any morena beauty can pull off these "crazy colors," as the salon expert termed it, just as well as those with lighter skin tone.

He remarked, "They can pull off any color, noh. Even, like, the lightest ash blonde, they can pull off because—did you notice when you color, it sort of changes your skin tone? Brightens it up?

"So breaking from all the taboo that there’s a don'ts and do, that's not anymore, noh. Individual now, e. You customize your own look."

But Henri underlined that the hairstyles would look more natural on a fashionista or anyone confident.

"For the crazy colors, I would think that it will still choose a certain group. It may not be global or universal.

"It really depends on your bravura."
