Sam Pinto has faced her fair share of beauty missteps and regrets.
One of her most notable admissions is her regret over not prioritizing sun protection during her younger years.
She opened up about this in a chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the second day of Bench Fashion Week on April 26, 2025, at Bench Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Sam shared that skipping sunblock led to the development of moles, shedding light on why sun protection is so crucial for skin health.
She recalled, "I love to go out on the beach, out in the sun. I surf a lot.
"Actually, when you surf, kasi you put sunblock, it's slippery, sa board. Never mind the sunblock.
"Tapos now, ang dami ko nang moles because I didn't protect my skin."
Now, Sam is an advocate for consistent sunblock use, encouraging her followers and fans to incorporate it into their daily routines.
She said, "Number one, definitely don't forget to wear your sunblock!"
For beachgoers or anyone spending extended hours in the sun, Sam suggests boosting your sunblock routine with a layer of aloe vera gel for that extra dose of moisture.
She said, "Always moisturize and don't forget to bring aloe vera gel! Anything cooling if you go out in the sun."
When asked about her go-to aloe vera gel product, Sam mentioned that she's open to anything, even the more affordable options, as long as it works well with your skin.
Sam told PEP, "Anything coconut aloe is fine. Anything, actually, even the cheap ones that you see anywhere.
"Because the point is, it cools the body kasi sobrang init na ngayon."
Her final tip for shielding yourself from the summer sun? Make sure to wear a cap.
Sam explained, "Caps, actually, is what you really need nowadays. Dati dedma yung cap, e, but you need it because the sun is so harsh."
SAM PINTO ON SELF-CARE
Sam emphasized how taking small steps like sun protection and moisturizing isn’t just about beauty, but about taking care of yourself, inside and out.
For busy moms like herself, Sam understands all too well the guilt that often accompanies setting aside time for oneself.
She shared an important reminder, especially for moms, to practice self-care without any guilt attached.
"Having a self-care routine is very, very important," she told PEP.
Sam further explained, "Because when you're okay and you feel good about yourself, the more you're gonna be better with your kid.
"Kasi kung if you don't give yourself enough time, you'll be cranky, you'll be angry, your patience varies.
"So parang, at least when you have your peace, you get to be safe and you're happy again with your child."
