Content creator Sam Corrales, who recently embarked on her fitness journey, emphasized the importance of sunscreen in protecting skin health, especially during outdoor workouts.

The chat happened on January 17, 2025, at the Watsons Goal Getters event—an inspiring day of talks and workshops related to health and beauty.

Sam Corrales: HER FIRST MARATHON

She recounted her first-ever 21-kilometer run in Taipei, Taiwam.

“December last year, a few months ago, I went to Taipei to run my first-ever marathon. It was super fulfilling,” she told the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

She continued, “Okay, disclaimer, I never really like running kasi it was something that was parang punishment as athletes kasi dati.

"So I wanted to do something that was outside my comfort zone and say na ‘Before the year ends, let’s see how far this goes.’ So then, that’s where it took me."

The experience was worth all her efforts.

During her talk, she encouraged the audience to step out of their comfort zones.

“Maybe this is some reminder for you guys to also do something that scares you, kasi napaka-fulfilling niya in the end."

Sam Corrales: HER BEAUTY STAPLE

As she trained for the marathon, intense discipline was required.

Her schedule often meant running during the late-morning hours when the sun was at its peak.

“It involved a lot of discipline talaga, you know, getting up early in the morning and then getting ready for work.

"So you really have to find that balance, and that involved working out at 11 a.m. sa UP oval, with the sun touching your skin."

Having mentioned the sun, a sunscreen has become her beauty staple ever since.

"Without sunscreen, your skin will age ten times faster.

"Also for me, I have sun spots and everything, and if I run in the sun like at 12 noon, kasi yun lang yung free time ko, I really need protection, and that is where Dermaction Plus comes in, my sunscreen,” she said.

Sam discovered her go-to sunscreen at Watsons’ Health and Beauty Convention last year.

"I trusted so much because I love the invisible balm. It’s something that I use today, like, underneath my make-up.

"For the ladies here, we just want a product that we can easily grab and go or is always on-the-go."

Sam also talked about the product’s versatility.

“It serves as, you know, a moisturizer, a sunscreen, a base for your make-up because there’s no white cast. I don’t know if you know this, but if there’s a white cast from your sunscreen, there’s gonna be like a parang pasty effect, and we don’t like that, gusto natin super smooth. And that is why the invisible balm is so good,” she added.

How much? PHP399 on Watson's online shop.
