In a world where appearances often define the spotlight, most celebrities rely on dedicated glam teams to get dolled-up.
GMA-7 actress Kyline Alcantara, however, embraces a hands-on approach.
Aware of the significant expenses tied to hiring professional stylists, Kyline proves that self-reliance and creativity can be equally glamorous.
At the Dyson event on September 28, 2024, at Robinsons Place Manila, Kyline did her own make-up and styled her own outfit, alongside celebrity hairstylist Paul Nebres.
Kyline told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Actually, ngayon, ako lang gumawa ng make-up ko... May mga events din na hair and make-up ako din. Styling, minsan ako din.
"Like today pala, I styled myself... So, di ba, tipid-tipid lang. At yung hair ko, walang ginastos, si Paul [Nebres] yung nag-ayos sa akin."
The Shining Inheritance actress proudly added, "Walang ginastos for today's video!"
Kyline admitted she's quite "maarte" but sees it as an advantage, especially when doing her own hair and makeup. She emphasized the practicality of this approach, particularly during the holiday season when expenses tend to rise.
"Kasi different season, e. Malapit na yung Christmas. For sure, maraming nakaka-relate na kailangan natin magtipid-tipid, mga Kapuso, my goodness."
KYLINE ALCANTARA'S HAIR ROUTINE
For hair care, Kyline uses treatment masks at home.
"Well, of course, treatments, Cream silk," Kyline said.
She added, "Well, I don't do shampoo every single day. But definitely conditioner every single day. I always wash my hair, lalo na kapag galing akong shoot.
"Siyempre may mga products yung hair, I wash it. And then, minsan, mina-mask ko din siya, treatments."
Kyline echoes the advice of celebrity hairstylist Paul Nebres, emphasizing the importance of investing in quality hair tools—ones that deliver results while protecting her crowning glory.
She said, "I will dry my hair with my Dyson Supersonic. And then after, ginagamit ko yung Airwrap, just, you know, to start it, to style it na parang to curl it.
"And then, for some reason, ginagamit ko rin yung Dyson Corrale ko para mas ma-define pa lalo yung curls. Kasi syempre, like, what our host said earlier, yung curls ng Dyson Airwrap, it's so gentle.
"Siyempre, minsan, gusto ko yung medyo defined naman. So ginagamit ko yung Corralle."
